Forgive me if it has been mentioned but I did a search first and didn’t find anything covering it.

I read about the torsion rods and adjusting them based on spoiler/no spoiler etc.

My issue is the deck lid opens too far as in pushing against the rear window far. I spent some time comparing it to my ‘88 Formula decklid that functions correctly and they looked identical and I don’t see any parts missing.

I suspect it could perhaps be rubber stoppers if someone could post a picture of where and what I’m looking for please?

Your decklid straps are gone or broken. They are steel cables on each hinge that keep the decklid from opening too far.

If they're missing, it's a pain in the ass to replace them. The hinges need to come off and the rivets need to be drilled out.

LOL, I wonder how many of us are taking the same picture right now ...

Anyway, another option it seems would be to replace both hinges?

Yep I checked those, they are both still on the car and the same length as the Formula's (I was assuming maybe someone put longer ones on that is why I checked length)

Could the hinge pin be broken? They can shear and be hard to see.
