Ok Everyone, I have an 88 coupe with the 2.5 ltr four and I have been searching for a month for an oil pump rebuild kit but no one seems to know what I'm talking about. My motor has the balancer assembly and not the one that drives off the distributor shaft. Does anyone know where I can find the parts I need to finish my rebuild? Thanks in advance for any leads.

Although I don't know anything about this part, is there a common failure point to where individual parts/bearings/seals can be replaced since the part is discontinued?

Rock Auto has 2 choices of standard pumps for $35; might not be worth looking for, finding and installing a kit etc...

Never made a rebuild kit for 88 available for DIY.
Was a method to replace dying balancer bearings but not a DIY fix. No-one can find new bearing now that have posted here.

Getting use is often bad because bearings are balance shafts are too worn or bad.

RA are wrong for 88 L4 Fiero.
Is same # as 87 and others and won't fit.

Oil pumps for the 88 L4 are near impossible to find. Its a common problem with other engines too. I have 93 4.9L Cadillac engine in one of my Fieros and that oil pump is also impossible to find. The pump still works but after an oil change , pressure takes a bit longer than to come up than on my 3800SC. Next time I will try filling the filter with 15W 50 Mobil One, but if I find a new pump I'll buy it.
