Hello,

I am in the process of restoring a 1985 GT. At this current point I am trying to undo a series of hack modifications and fixes.
I am currently stuck on an electrical issue. Whenever I connect the battery the internal lights turn on, the radio turns on and the door dinger goes off when the ignition is in the off most position. I was hoping someone would be able to point me to where the harness may have been messed with by the previous owner to cause this so Ill be able to get the electrical back to stock.

I have included photos for reference.

Tyler, you have a big job in front of you. Why is the battery in the trunk?

The connector with all the bright wires in front of the fuse box is not stock.

First step is to check the ignition switch operation. Is the linkage to the switch on the steering column in place?

I have checked under the steering column and everything besides one plug appears to be connected:

As well I checked each fuse with a continuity checker and they appear to be good.

I-switch can move if 2 bolts get even a little loose.
Link between I-switch and Key on Tilt columns can bend or break inside them.
Example in my Cave, Steering

Either might work but out of spec and I-switch doesn't exactly match key position.
