I'm in need of an engine harness for my swap, 4.9 Cad into my 1988 GT. I think that I've found a couple of candidates but I've been told by 1 person that I can use any harness except from a 1984. I've also been told that they are different. I looked on Pennock's and found a discussion that indicated that indeed there are differences in the wiring. They all seemed to be pretty minor talking about how the C203 but mostly the C500 is wired.

Is there any difference in the actual physical plug & socket? (C203 or C500). In other words, will any C500 plugs from any Fiero plug into the other half irrespective of wiring? If there's no difference (and I don't think that there is) then what difference does it make if most/some of it is all going to be rewired anyway?

I need to buy one and don't know which way to jump. Do I really need one from a 1988, 5 spd., GT? Then do I have to consider A/C or anything else?

Help! Thanks in advance for your continued excellent help.

Physically, the plugs are the same. The 88's are just easier to convert.
