1986 SE V6 4-speed. 11k miles.

So, got her out of hibernation after 5+ months. She started right up. Adjusted tire pressure, checked fluids, and was on my way. She ran great, and almost everything worked. Even the A/C is still blowing cold. It's original R12, never converted.

As I played with all the functions, the only weird thing was the wipers. Mist, Low, and High all work great. But, on intermittent, they operate like on on Low. Same speed throughout the intermittent adjustment with no variable . . . through the intermittent, they are *maybe* just a split second slower than LOW. The car doesn't go out in the rain, so this isn't a big deal. But, I have put a lot of sweat and money into its rejuvenation, so would like to keep it tip-top shape. Is this likely the control board or the turn signal stalk itself?

BTW, only ever got the phantom wipe once. So, out of caution, I have already installed Chief's fix.

I would start with the board as it is the easiest to change out. I got lucky and found an original AC Delco board that worked in a junk yard car.

Okay, so a new board changed nothing. Next idea?

Checking again, this is what it is doing:

1. Low, high, and mist work as designed
2. At the fastest point of the delay wiper range, it is slightly slower than Low as you would expect.
3. As you attempt to slow down more from there, they get only slightly slower, with no discernible difference down to what should be the slowest wiper rate within the intermittent range.

Bottom line, there is no speed difference from what should be the slowest point up to about the 80% mark within the intermittent range. This occurred with both the OEM board and the new Dorman board.

So . . . I guess my question would be . . . is the next logical cause likely the switch in the steering column or the stalk itself?
