I just received an OEM '87 aero nose to replace the damaged one now on the car. The top portion of the piece has a noticeable "dip". Is there a solution to remove this so it's acceptable to install? Thanks again, R
I had some high density foam that was used in packing delicate instruments; I carefully shaped it to fit between the top of the bumper shock-absorbing structure and the underside of the front facia...Mine had that dip.....It's not completely gone but darned close....I should have taken some pictures- but I didn't. Remember to cut a small hole for the emblem studs. Oh yes, I just remembered; I used a couple of wood screws to secure it to the bumper-absorber......
Unfortunately the best options are to find one that is not warped or buy a fiberglass front end. Other than what is mentioned above regarding foam packing, there really are no other options.
Any front end will have developed that sag.......Mine is almost perfect since doing this mod.....I have maybe a 1/4" of sag still but some of that could be alleviated if I wait until a really hot day, then forcing the trailing edge down and tightening the screws......
Where are those wonderful 105* heatwaves we had here in 2017...? (Although I was usually laying in my basement trying to find some relief while hoping that the radon would just kill me.........)
The method I used was to bend the nose back into shape with a heat gun and some persuasion, then apply a layer of fiberglass to the underside. The fiberglass will keep it from sagging again.

I also had some success using a heat gun and pressure, was able to get it back to its original shape. Note the nose isn't a thermal plastic and wont do any extreme forming, but can be worked back to shape. I didn't try any fiberglass...didn't think about it.
I had 2 I fixed. take it off, use a heat gun on it to get it back in shape. then if you don't want it to ever warp again, wrap the nose of the car (under the cover) with saran wrap, every where where the cover even comes close to the car, apply "Great Stuff" expanding Foam. then real quick, install the cover. the foam will expand and make the cover sturdy (and perfectly shaped) like the Factory SHOULD have done. because of the saran wrap, you can still remove the cover if needed.
i placed foam under the nose at the dip point. i experimented with different thicknesses of foam mat like used for sleeping bags. No dip now, and no danger as with heat guns jon
