My car is an 86 GT. I baught the front wireing harness from an 87 GT and the electric motors (everything but the bucket frames) This headlight upgrade is supposed to be more dependable swap. One little problem, the 86 lifting arm is off about 1\4 inch. Ive got the 87 lifting arms around here somewhere....Is that the problem or do I need the headlight bucket frames too? Guess I'll just have to find those 87 lifting arms.

I have gen 1 and 2 "arms" and looks same xept minor diff in manufacturing over the years.
Bolts holding motors to the lift are different. Gen1 have shorter/longer bolts then gen2. (Don't have them to look right now.) If you have long bolts in shorter holes in motors then long bolts can cause interference w/ the arms.

Buckets etc are same. If not then someone likely bent or mod'ed them.

Other then that... post a pic to show your problem.
