What is the difference between the 87 and 88 struts. I have a new set of KYB GR2 struts that I would like to use in my 88GT but I am not sure that this is possible KYB does not list them for the 88 fiero however I think that the fiero store sells KYB for the 88 What gives? does anyone knows? Thanks for any help

What Patrick said ui the above link. I installed a set of OEM 88 struts on my 87 using the 87 hardware. Should work the same way with 87 struts using the 88 hardware.

I installed an 88 rear subframe/suspension in my 85 SE V6.......I had absolutely no issues with the KYB GR2 struts that I was running with the original suspension.

I am now in process of installing Koni struts......I will have to check on clearance when I am installing them.

Anymore, the struts are for 84-88 are all the same. Just swap the strut hat/upper spring perch to match the year of the chassis.

Way back when, there used to be separate part numbers and on the 88s there was an opening in the lower clamp bracket to clear the 88 knuckle. Without the opening, you just have to grind a little clearance on the 88 knuckle. Once you have done this 1 time modification, then you can use any Fiero rear strut on an 88.
