What's the current state of the art for an F23 swap?

At one point, Thelin's mount brackets and shift linkage were available for purchase, but his website is down.

Does anyone else make F23 mount brackets? Shift linkage?

I know it uses the same axles as the 282 and requires a specific clutch, although it has a deeper bellhousing than the 282.

I intend to mate it to a 3900.

Roger Thelin is selling stuff in the mall. He sells a shifter kit as well. Shoot him a PM.

I'll chime in as I am going through this project as we speak. I ordered Roger's trans bracket kit but he was unable to provide a front bracket for my specific transmission (2002 cavalier w/2200 engine). Thankfully I was able to use his rear bracket, so I am getting ready to fabricate the front bracket mount since everything is now located by the engine mount and the rear trans mount.

I'm going to be fabricating the shifter cable mounts as well, using cables from California push pull.

I can't speak to the 3900 engine mount though. I'm using a 3800 and I believe I'm using the WCF engine mount (not 100% sure).

I'll be in that situation, as I'll need to start with that trans and swap its bellhousing onto a Cobalt XE transmission.

I have this setup in my car. The 3900 is nice and the f23 holds the power well. The gear ratios suck first gear is good to about 12-15mph. Had to fab the front bracket but I used Rogers rear bracket. If bvmotorsports is still selling the shift linkage buy it, don’t waste any time trying to fab your own. His design works like a charm.
