On the recommendation of a Fiero owner here in the Valley (Owns 6 of them...at least), he suggested I double check my vertical end play on the distributor.
This is a 1986 GT V6. The owner gave me a new Cardone Select distributor P/N 84-1633. I have 0.005" of endplay out of the box. Is that ok? My understanding was 0.015-0.020" is
ideal. Seems to be multiple schools of thought and no published specs I can find.

Would too little clearance be an issue?

Thanks!

I've read .005 to .008. On the other hand there's this...

That definitely jives with the endplay on the new distributor. Where did you find that information? I'm having a heck of time finding anything official.
I know different engines like different endplay.

Thanks!

Exactly. When I've looked up this info in the past, I've found plenty of distributor end play info on various Chevy forums.
