removing c clip on fiero shift cable by yamaha94

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to replace the shift cable on my fiero GT. The "c clip" that holds the cable both at the transmission and in the console is hard to remove. Any idea whats the easiest method to remove it? Thank you.

Thanks for the help - but that is not the one I was looking for.

The clip that retains the shift cable looks like this:

Easier than I thought to remove - I just used a vice grip positioned it on the center and wiggled it out. Done!
