I have replaced 3 each master and slave cylinders on my '88 Fiero 5 speed transmission. Clutch will not fully disengage.. Only get 3/4" movement on the slave. Tried different bleeding procedures with no effect. Am I getting the incorrect parts? What is the original bore dimensions of the cylinders?

If you can pump the clutch pedal rapidly and get more travel at the slave, there is still air in the system. The getrag slave cylinder is fatter and shorter than the other slave cylinders. Your pushrod should only be about 3.5" long.

Your clutch pedal should be about an inch above the brake pedal. If not the clutch pedal is bent. It typically bends in the steel U part on the top of the pedal.

First, which 5 speed? Getrag or Isuzu?

Second, you should do yourself a favor and use parts from Rodney, you will have more success.

That's rather difficult for us to tell when you make no mention of which 5-spd tranny you have!

I've had an instance where the pivot points for the pressure pate fingers where broken. This prevented the pressure plate from lifting off the clutch disc in the area where the pivots where broken. It's a little harder to diagnose but it could be a possible problem.
