Anyone use the rockers from a 94'-95' 3100 that are 1.6? on a 2.8-3.4?
I don't need to know about 1.6 ratio rockers as I have run the comp cams ones for many years.
I don't want to hear "just buy the roller tipped ones", unless you are going to give me the money to buy them.

Comp cams lists the same rockers for both engines, both run the 10mm studs.

I am wondering if anyone has personally run the stamped 1.6 rockers, I just want to make sure they fit and if I need anything else besides just the rockers, like are the balls different etc.

In case you don't know the 94-95 3100 engines have 1.6 stamped rockers stock. $30 for a set, sure beats $130

They are only roller fulcrum rockers. So I didn't use them when I repurposed the 3400 block for iron heads.

I used the aluminum full roller rockers from Summit with the 10mm->3/8" stud adapters. You have to search for 'narrow body' aluminum rockers. Summit also sells the stud adapters.

Actually I have two sets of 3100/3400 rockers...somewhere.
I was just letting you know that they are roller fulcrum only. The rest of information was free.

Roller would be nice, but I was talking about the stamped ones, are the later years roller? And 1.6.

Well, the ones I have are from a small-port 1996 3100 and the 2001 3400. AFAIK, they are all 1.6 and they both look the same and are roller fulcrum but not roller tipped.
So basically, early GEN3 and what I like to call GEN4 heads that everyone else calls GEN3. Even GEN2, if that's what you are really asking about should be the same since the heads all mount the same and only the port shapes is the major change.

Keep in mind, the iron duke is a roller cam block and uses 1.7 rockers, so it should be no surprise that all aluminum head v6 rockers are 1.6 ... Only the Fiero, F-body and some minivans used iron heads after 1988, IIRC.

I never tried removing that stud because I never wanted to use them on an iron head motor...

So the new question is, anyone try these on an iron head?
I assume the response is no.

Supposedly, the early 3100 1.6 stamped rockers can be used on the iron heads

The only information I could find was here:

The heads they come from have locating grooves the iron heads would not have.

Yeah, you'd have to cut slots in the heads for those pedestal-mount rockers. The cost of the rockers, plus the cost of the machine work, may end up being more than a set of Comp Cams roller-tip rockers. (which IIRC is what you were trying to avoid in the first place)

I think if you're just looking for 1.6:1 rockers on the cheap, the earlier style (non-roller) would be your best bet.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a 3100 is a GEN3 motor and should have the roller fulcrum rockers I pictured.
The stamped rockers were from a GEN2 3.1, correct?

From what I understand, the stamped ones are from 94 95.
