Hello,
I am new to the Fiero world, so I may be asking some stupid questions.
I bought a 86 notch with a 5 speed, 2.5L. Gold….

I have been researching the issues since purchasing the car. I have some of the basic problems, but feel confident I can fix most of them. I am listing the issue and the intended remedy. Please interject any suggestions to make it easier.

Head light issue
Left one goes up, but only goes down with a jerry-rigged bypass switch from previous owner. The right one does not go up; currently have up manually.

I have purchased a pair of replacement lights with motors and relays.

Dash issues……..
Odometer/trip meter don’t work. Speedo and tach work. The trip meter seems to want to wiggle. Dash replacement is the solution.

Speedo dash lights out…the tach lights work. (Replace/clean bulbs)

Water temp gauge is wacky…almost always shows no heat..but can peg to the hot side. Laser temp thermometer shows 210 F at thermostat housing, so I don’t think it is too hot. (Plan on replacing temp sending unit….if it is the gauge, the new dash should help)

Cigarette light doesn’t work.

E brake light is on all the time..

Right turn indicator in dash doesn’t work, but it doe blink left and right.

Flashers don’t work.

Car rides and drives great. The Iron Duke purrs like a kitten. My 11 year old is now dreaming of this as his first car…not out of my thoughts either….

I have a multi tester …. I have the tools and enough mechanical experience to do most of the work. The biggest issue is I am 350 miles from home base (at father-in-laws), so I am limited on what I can do right now…
I will be asking many questions…thanks

Just getting started, so sorry for stupid questions

Welcome to PFF! Sounds like you have your hands full with some minor electrical issues. Make sure all the bulbs are good first. That may solve your turn signal problems among a few other issues.

Welcome to the forum and do I dire say the madness!

The "Search" function is your best friend. Most if not all of your electrical issues have been discussed or resolved.

Good luck with your repairs.
