MY 87 GT STARTS HARD WHEN COLD BUT ONCE STARTED, IT WILL START RIGHT UP WITH NO ISSUES UNLESS IT SITS A FEW HOURS. WHY AND HOW TO REPAIR?

Check your fuel pressure while running and then watch it as you shut off the engine. You should have near full pressure for a good 10-15 minutes then it will slowly bleed down but should never go to zero. If the pressure drops to zero as soon as the engine is shut off then suspect the fuel pressure regulator. It's also possible the check valve in the fuel pump is bad but that is much less common.

the 2.8 has a Cold start injector located at the End of the intake manifold and a cold start Switch on top of the intake. Usually it will be the cold start SWITCH that goes bad.

Find the CAPS LOCK key on the keyboard and use it to turn it OFF.
