Hey, I'm looking to put a 3800sc in my 1985 fiero. It's a v6 and 4 spd, I know many people have done these, but I am unable to find an exact list of parts that I'll need for the swap. I really would like to do this and I just mostly want to know if there are any kits for them? I saw someone in the forums had a kit for them for sale, but, I saw that he got banned, his name was "FriendofYours" anyone know if he is a scam or has good and real kits? If not, know anywhere I can buy a good kit. Second off, what cars will have a 3800 or a 3800sc in it that will work good for my build? I am 16 and don't have too much money, but if anyone can point me into the right direction for this swap that'd be great, thanks!

First off it will cost money like atleast $2,000 . Alot of cars have 3800sc pontiac grand prix gtp, buick park ave, And manual trans you need a front motor mount, New flywheel from v6 camaro milled down to .084 to fit . New stage 3+ clutch set . 3800sc engine and engine harness and computer. Then u need to have the engine harness modded to work in fiero and computer reprogramed. Plus new coolant hoses and lots of little stuff. Like new flywheel mounting bolts and clutch mounting bolts. Last time i added things up i was close to $3,000 and i already owned my fiero. Plus the tools needed floor jacks and stands and make your life ez and engine hoist. Hope this kinda helps you out abit.

If you were really pushing it and didnt make any of the mounts or harness yourself you could probably keep it to $2000. If you are going manual you need clutch/pressure plate (~$415) and flywheel ($250 from fierorog on forum already milled down). you will also need front motor mount (fierorog ~$100), harness (phonedawgz or fieroflyer ~$450-$650). That is over $1100 in BASIC essentials but would be substantially less if you can do the work yourself.

There are tons of other little things that will add up quick like coolant hoses, routing the heater core lines, dogbone mount, air intake, etc. It is totally doable and actually not hard to swap in my opinion but you gotta have the tools. it took me about 2 months to complete being a total amateur at it. I knew my fiero very well having taken the engine out many times for various problems and upgrades but there are things you forget about until you are in there doing it.

Edit to add: No one makes a complete kit. You have gather the parts from multiple sources. And a word of advice, don't even mention "friend of yours" around here. They stole a lot of peoples money(paid for parts and never received or sent parts to them that disappeared). Just act like they never had anything available to buy
