For what ever the reason my rear deck release solenoid quite working. After some troubleshooting I have discovered the solenoid is not grounded. How is or where does the solenoid grounded?

The ground should actually be through the latch while it is in contact with the body.

This writeup says
"some of the cars I’ve done with heavy spoilers or wings sometimes have needed a separate ground wired to it since it doesn’t always make contact properly."
