The hood of my 85 Notchie had a couple of large 'gouges' in it (from where I slid under the back of a hopped up chevy several years ago when he pulled out in front of me and then STOPPED!).
I've repaired with smc adhesive, sanded it down, primed and painted it and while it looks ok, I can still see where the repairs are.
I may well end up redoing it once the rest of the car is painted but I am wondering about getting another hood that's in good condition to start with (well, no repairs anyway) and repainting that but the question is, can I use a hood from any year, model or are there differences?
Superficially they all look the same but are they really and are they interchangeable?
