So to start this off i had got this car in March as drivable car but it went downhill from there. When i first got it, it ran great but the clutch needed a little work. I ended up replacing all the hydraulics for the clutch and it ran a litle hot but drove great. But then it overheated and started ticking thus the rebuild. Will post pics.

Welcome to PFF!

What's your plan for the rebuild? Have you considered a swap as an alternative? There are lots of options that will likely cost the same as a rebuild and give you some extra power. Since you have the skills for a rebuild, you definitely have the skills for a swap. Just a thought.

I always worry about the integrity of a block once it's overheated. I guess it all depends on how much time you can afford to be without the car. 3800sc is a great swap, but you'd want to commit one way or the other rather than spending lots of money to do a rebuild and then turn around and swap it out. Good luck either way!
