I've got a '7165 on a 2.5 with no knock sensor. Anyone have experience with adding an ESC and sensor? What parameters need to be changed in the code?

Thanks!

For one thing, everybody's confused.
No Fiero 2.5L came with the 1227165, and you're not giving enough details.
Is this an ECM swap you are attempting? What Memcal are you running?

The 1227165 ECM was used in 1987-91 GM trucks (S10/S15 etc.) trucks with 2.5L TBI Duke engine.
The memcal in the 1227165 'should' have the knock sensor circuitry, and in that case not need the ESC module.
You need the correct sensor for the engine http://www.rockauto.com/cat...060894,parttype,5108

If you could find the wiring diagram for the truck listed, you could see how it's wired.

Vehicle breakdown;
http://home.earthlink.net/~...165/Usage/usage.html

ECM 1227165
Application:
1986 2.0 L4 TBI “P” LQ5 w/ MT
1986-89 5.0 V8 TPI “F” LB9
1986-89 5.7 V8 TPI “8” L98
1987-91 truck 2.5 L4 TBI “E” LN8
1991 truck 2.5 L4 TBI “A” L38

MEMCAL IDs:
“P”: CRY, CRZ, …
“F”: AUM, ACXT, AKFM, AKFR, …
“8”: BUA, AANK, AANL, APYP, APYU, AUJM, …
“E”: ADHF, AMJW, ASWY, AXAA, …
A”: AUXH, …

OR are you running the Aussie $12P hacked code? (cerulean here at PFF)
The 1227165 with $12P code running a Fiero 2.5L - he started with the Truck 2.5L ECM

ESC module and connector

WIRING

On the module you have 5 pins. These pins are labeled A, B, C, D, and E.
ESC signal is fed into terminal B7 of 1227165 ECM.

If you're running a Memcal with internal knock sensor circuitry, connect the knock sensor to B11 (ESC module not needed)
NOTE: This B7 and B11 arrangement is for the hacked code $12P for the 1227165 ECM.
