I have an 87 GT and the driver side headlight wont go down when I turn the lights off with the switch.

They go up just fine, no odd sounds

How do I know what I need to fix this?

On ebay there are alot of different ones with varying degrees of cost and more parts of course.

Some just have bushings, some have a plastic gear, some have an aluminum one, and of course the really expensive rebuilt motors.

If you have more questions let me know, I tried to describe the symptoms as best I could.

I am on vacation next week and would like to knock this out.

Thank you for your help.

Stay off eBay, and just buy the rebuild kits from either The Fiero Store or Rodney Dickman.

Fiero store wants 18
Dickman wants 39

Of course the plastic is the 18
And the CNC machined one is 39

Anyone have either of these?

Gen2 motors rarely break the gear.

First See my Cave, Gen 2 HL Motor

Screw at bottom has a small loose ball bearing.
clean and lube the bearing.
Adjust so motor shaft has a tiny bit of play. Never "preload" the bearing.
