hi all

when I drive my 87 SE 2.8l at the right operating temperature and i stoped at a red light it takes between 45 sec to 1.5 min before the rpm goes from 2000 to 1000. there is no jumps in the rpm during this period.

any idea what cause this?

I would first unplug the VSS at the transmission, clean off all the contacts and then plug it back in.
