It's not just a matter of efficiency and/or learning curve or being modern, at least for some of us, there's a cost factor as well. I can buy a few carbs for the price of a single complete FI setup.

I think that statement is a bit broad. If you're talking a brand new aftermarket EFI system I would agree. But you can do JY EFI for $10's. Of course that depends on what you're EFI'ing.

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

It's a 383 with vortec heads and intake. Whatever I put on it has to be good for 400-450 hp. I considered TBI, but what's the point, might as well stick with the Edelbrock carb.

There is a lot of appeal from this old guy to that "sound", especially this time of year. The sound of a big ol' 4 bbl or better yet three deuces or multiple Webers with warm air howling through them at some insane speed isn't something you soon forget. Especially with velocity stacks.

That said, maybe it does belong in the past..as they say you can't go home again. Still...

Carbs vs EFI is certainly one of the polarizing issue here, s'all good.

BR's,

Mark

There are a lot of "polarizing" things around here it seems. Too bad people can't just have their preferences and have it be OK.
