I noticed Pertronix has an 8-pin ICM for the Fiero.

Has anyone tried one?
I use Pertronix with great results in my old British cars.

Here's the description of the Pertronix unit:

Thick film technology on alumina ceramic
substrates removes heat for greater accuracy
and improved reliability.
• Laser trimming gives precise peak current
control for increased energy output.
• Legal in all 50 states and Canada.
(C.A.R.B. E.O. #D-57-22)
• Limited One Year Warranty

Thanks,
Rich Truett

Went bad in 1,200 miles and Towed home.

This part lasted about 1,200 miles then died stranding me along the side of the turnpike. Towed home and replaced just this part then the car ran fine.
It had lots of the white grease on its metal plate heat sink, i know because it got all over my hands when I replaced it. Just great, now I have this companies coil, rotor and distributor cap to worry about next. I could sure use a refund.

I have tried their product in my 60 Pontiac V8. It replaces the point type ignition and no problems so far.

Not that I have an opinion about the product, but relating to the negative review, too much thermal compound can be worse than none. People tend to overdo it with the compound and it actually insulates the part from the heat sink, as opposed to just filling imperfections and ensuring good thermal conductivity. That could easily be why the part in the bad review failed so quickly.
