I know this will sound stupid but where us the ignition module at on an 87 duke,is it the coil itself,thanks everyone ,oh,and the owner says it running a bit hot,i asked while driving or just stop n go traffic

Because if PIM is really bad then likely other ignition parts cause the problem.
