Does anyone know the type of glue that was used to hold the GT taillights together? I have my tail lights apart for installing a LED tail light conversion and the original glue was very weak. I removed it all and would like to replace it with new glue

Butyl rubber. Here is a link to the 1/4 thick roll:

I personally prefer the butyl rubber in a caulking tube. CR Lawrence specializes in sealant products for storefront doors and windows and they sell the tubes here:

Sealer just keep major dirt out of lenses...
Should be small holes that are vent open to air. Don't block them.

3M strip caulk is a direct replacement for the factory caulk also.

Strip caulk is not glue. Works great for caulking, but I wouldn't trust it for holding in taillight lenses...
