what is the life expectancy of those Idler Pulleys?

I had one burst on me in my Grand Prix years ago, and it threw a belt off. I don't know who old the ones on there are so I was looking to replace them.

BTW, anyone know a cheap place for them? I saw $85 for one. Wow!

I replaced them all with metal pulleys, I think I used Dayco or gates and the were like $20 or something each. Plastic pulleys may be cheaper but when they fail it is more catastrophic / quicker.

They should last 100k+ if the bearings are good from the start and your belts are aligned and tensioned properly.
