there's a bolt next to the injector, take it out, and the injector should pull right out. then you just need to plug the hole.

I deleted my CSI on my 2.8 and there is a thread posted. Go to search and type in delete cold start injector. The small freeze plugs can be bought at Nappa auto . You remove the cold start injector and the fuel tube that is attached to the fuel rail. I bought a bolt with the proper thread to cap off the port hole on the fuel rail. I cut the bolt down to about a half a inch then with a cut off wheel i carefully grinded a slot in the top of the small bolt end. I did this so that i could take a screwdriver and screw in the piece of bolt to cap off the fuel rail. I then pressurized the fuel rail to test for leaks. The freeze plug can be a little bugger to get in but with a little persistence it will go. Some people say they use a broom handle to help set it in . I used a socket and short drive attachment that fit snuggly into the outer side of the freeze plug. I then tapped it in with a hammer. It was kinda hard to get the best angle due to the distributor and EGR tube being in the way.
The bolt hole can be left open. You can also remove the CSI switch next to the coolant fill housing and cap off the hole . Some people leave the switch in and it remains inactive. Again check out the thread for details.

For a different twist, I'm keeping my eye out for a fuel rail from a 1990-1992 3.1 V6 from a Camaro or Firebird. No cold start injector, so there's no fuel fitting on the fuel rail! Makes for a clean install with no possibility for leaks. Only trouble is, I've been watching the junkyards for months and haven't come across one yet. Lots of 2.8s though.

I think some have suggested using the fuel rail from the 93+ 3.4 V6 but I don't think it will work. Not only do the fuel lines attach differently, but the Schrader valve is in the wrong place and would be hidden under the Fiero plenum.

I bought a neat little aluminum fitting with O-ring from TPIparts to plug the injector hole. Its meant for V8s but I think it will fit the V6. Kind of pricey at $18 but at least it will look cool on those rare occasions I'm looking down there with a flashlight LOL.

Mainly just the elimination of a source of leaks. The metal line between the fuel rail and the injector is often brittle and can be damaged if you remove the fuel rail to change injectors. Some people have had issues sealing the metal line upon re-installing it to the fitting on the fuel rail. Or the injector itself could leak fuel and replacements are not available. Some people eliminate it just to reduce clutter.

Most people don't miss not having a cold start injector. Maybe a couple more seconds of cranking when the car is cold. By design, the injector only sprays when the starter is engaged so it normally sees very little use.
