I pulled the cam out of my 86 2.8 today. I figured it would be stamped with GM or something that identified the manufacturer. Anyway, all I found were numbers and my google-fu is weak today. From top to bottom the numbers on it are:
115226
242492
USA, offset to the left
242052

Is this the stock cam or is it something better?

idk, when I put cam and shaft in google I get all kinds of hits. Kind of nasty pictures however.

Yeah, I never could find any info. I'm about to buy a Melling MTC-5 cam and lifter set. Any opinions on that?
