So I have a red 87 Gt, its roof and rear hood is sun faded almost white in places.
I bought a good buffer with compounding pads, and 3m finesse compound.
It has worked well it just takes forever to get through it.
Fortunately I have the sunroof so the roof wont be too bad as it could be.
Is there anything else to do or use to make this an easier job, short of a respray?
Thanks!

The clearcoat is bad. Not much you can do besides repaint with color/clear.

What he said. Ive been painting for 50 years. All the 'white' clearcoat has to be sanded off.
