today my transmission went out ... when i tried to go it wouldn't move & was making a grinding noise .. i immediately turned the car off & had it towed home ... i intend to take it in to a transmission shop but was wondering if anyone has an idea of what im looking at as far as repairing it goes ... general cost question ... thanks!

Don't waste money on that 3-spd slushbox... have a newer 4-spd auto installed. Members here will have all the info you need to know.

That transmission went into a lot of cars..and is pretty reliable..(Th125) It is going to be cheaper to pick up a used one than rebuild yours.
