So this 1986 GT with a 4 spd manual and 49,800miles has a terrible time starting 8/10 times. This video was taken after it sat for approx. 2.5mo. while my dad was out of town. The car wasn't touched the entire time. The other times this car will do this is after it sits for just a few hours. It takes multiple tries to get the beast to start. What causes this?

Check your fuel pressure when this problem is happening.

Could be faulty:

- ECM temperature sensor (called the coolant temperature sender or CTS)

- fuel pump relay (if it's shot, it will take more cranking to start because it will rely on the oil pressure switch to turn on the pump);

-cold start injector circuit;

-clogged air filter, fuel filter;

-Idle Air Control valve (IAC)

The car has a new fuel pump, strainer, and filter.

The fuel pump relay is good, cause I disconnected the oil gauge sender and it started fine.

So the IAC and CSI are the only other things to rule out.
EDIT: I need to check the temp sender. I just need to figure out how work the ALDL scanner from phonedawgz
