This poor little car has had an oil leak for so long. It has finally progressed to a constant drip while running. Unfortunately in a pretty well hid area, but could be worse. It is leaking just to the right (passenger side) of the distributer. This is a 2.5L engine. It looks like it is leaking from an electrical plug. I'm guessing it is the oil pressure sensor. I was able to blindly remove the oil soaked plug. It is a three prong plug with what looks like a Brown/White wire and two other tan or brown wires. I don't see anything on the electrical diagrams that look like this. The oil pressure sensor is only shown as one wire on the diagram for some reason and goes to the fuel pump relay as it should. I need to get a mirror and light down there to look at things before I pull that sensor out. The sensor body does not seem loose, although I can rotation the 3 prong terminal part. Like I said before, I am working blindly. Could the sensor be leaking because the terminal rotates, or is there something else down there that I can not see. A manifold is currently blocking my view.

Thanks for any help! I'm looking forward to not polluting the world.

Oil pressure sender. Just replace it and see if that helps.

(assuming it is an '84, based on your username)

Oil leak has been fixed. It turned out to be the oil pressure switch after all. Thanks to everyone for their feedback.

I had a leaking 88 sensor once. I guess any year can develop a leak.
