Bought this already installed on an '88 cradle. It's out of a '99 Bonneville and included the motor/trans, PCM, stripped harness, '88 cradle with hubs and suspension installed, fuel tank with upgraded pump and modified lines.

So far I've taken the top end down to the LIM to replace all the gaskets I could find: LIM metal gasket set, exhaust manifold gaskets, fuel inj. o-rings top and bottom, supercharger gasket, cleaned TB and new gasket and all sensor o-rings. Also cleaned it up and tried to organize the wiring in preparation for building the harness.

I've been reading for a few days to get a good starting point to build the harness. One question that I can't find after searching is how to mount the '88 cradle into my '87 since I can't find anyone making/selling the adaptor plates that I found were being used in prior posts. Anyone have any direction for that?

Here's the swap when I first got it home

Here it is now

Here's the rear of the car (kinda crowded in the garage right now)

Thanks for the link, already sent an email to order.

During the wiring today I ran into a few conflicting wires:

1. My EGR has 5 wires one of which is purple and it isn't listed in the wiring I downloaded. Anyone know this wiring well?

2. My alternator has 2 wires, 1 red which I see where it goes but I don't see the other one which is grey?

Appreciate any help.

Maybe you can match up your questionable EGR wire by process of elimination:
C1 32 RED EGR A
C2 4 GRY EGR E
C2 28 BRN EGR C
C1 31 BLK EGR B
C2 30 GRY EGR D

The grey alternator wire might go to PCM C2, pin 29, wire #23, "Gen Term F Monitor"? Gray - Used by some PCMs, not used with the standard Series 2 PCM swap.

I have never seen an EGR valve connector with a purple wire.

EGR A - C1 32
EGR B - C1 31
EGR C - C2 28
EGR D - C2 33 <--
EGR E - C2 4

The actual colors of plastic insulation of the wires is ignored by the electrons... And apparently GM also when it comes to the EGR valve.

I bought just like it sits but if I can cut those off I will. Currently have the wire harness built except for the egr and tranny wiring. Still trying to find some info on how to finish it up. I'll be posting some updated pics later tonight.

Another project I worked on last weekend. Got these from the same person I got the 3800 swap from.

The one on the left is done, the one on the right is still in work..
