I bought a new Delco TPS for my 87 GT. Sensor came with new screws and these little metal tabs with a hole that looks like a screw goes threw. I wish I could post a photo. What are these metal tabs for? I'm assuming that they either go between the throttle body and sensor, or sensor and screw.

sensor and the screw

edit to add:
it looks completly pointless, I still can't figure out why or what it is there for, but I have seen lots of them.

Your name....are you a cop?

Yeah, the original had a crescent shaped metal bracket that the screws went through. Probably to help spread the load so the TPS didn't get broken when tightening. The TPS should sit flush against the throttle body. BTW, put a little never-seize on the threads. The aluminum bolts are prone to seize and/or break and/or heads strip out and/or any combination and/or all of the preceding.
