I have a 1988 GT with a T-Top conversion by Cars & Concepts. It was done WAY back in July 1988 according to the sticker on the trunk. I know there is some issue getting seals for the original equipment. I bought the car last September in Calif. and trailered it back to Texas. (not that all that matters I guess) I am going to begin restoring it and wondered if anyone was familiar with that company. AND wondering if I have greater flexibility in the seals I can use on this since it is not original equipment?

Thanks

Cars and Concepts was the vendor to Pontiac for the 'Factory' CJB option T-tops, but they also installed T-tops on order for dealers. A lot of GM cars used the same top, as well as Ford and Chrysler. Make sure you don't have the CJB option on your driver's side front fender sticker...

Check the sticker to see if you have the T-top code. C&C installed t-tops in Fieros as a dealer/customer option in any fiero. This top was almost identical to the "factory" (88 only) version. The factory cars were shipped to C&C for the conversion.

The weatherstripping is different (slightly) when you compare the "factory" and "non-factory" t-tops. You can perform a search here on this forum for more info. I owned an '88 with "non-factory" t-tops.... fyi.

Either way, there is no aftermarket suppliers. People have modified Camaro seals.

Thanks for the thread.

SO most likely is a factory or dealer option. I have it in storage and I have not had the time to go out there and look for the CJB option.

The sticker is silver is dated 7-19-88 and a serial number 09###7.

THIS VEHICLE WAS ALTERED BY______________________IN__________________________AND AS ALTERED, IT CONFORMS TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS AFFECTED BY THE ALTERATIONAND IN EFFECT IN ______________________. (serial # at bottom)

It would seem that if it is done by the people that the GM organization used as vendors the quality of the build is still there. That should be the most important thing to consider.
