I'm restoring this '88GT after many years in the sun. Almost everything works properly now, and I'm down to the details...

There is an odd subwoofer under the dash and what seems to be a controller in the overhead panel. Presumably there's a separate amplifier somewhere, and power/signal feeds. Unfortunately, the previous owner installed a (good quality) Sony stereo/CD, but apparently did not connect the subwoofer. I therefore need a wiring diagram that includes physical locations of the various wires, paths, and connectors. Can you provide it, or refer me?

Of course, my FIRST choice would be an original Fiero front end, with EQ. But even then I'd need wiring help because surely the PO has cut/spliced.

Thanks!

You can SEARCH for Performance Sound for a lot more information. Be sure to select the archives.

That 6.5" sub and overhead controller are stock. (presumably, Many came with them)

You have many options for replacements. Obviously stock and about any aftermarket, but also look into replacing it with a factory pontiac deck with CD player. Will give you the convenience of a CD player, but will still appear stock. You can also add an MP3 hook up to a stock player. There are many threads on here about both of these options and which decks will and wont work.

The stock subwoofer enclosure will have to be modified to use a 6.5 " speaker because the stock one was not 6.5" .
