Lost the key to my 86 sport. Need to have it towed and the steering is turned all the way left. The interior is stripped and everything is already exposed. Is one of the rods running down the unlock mechanisim? Its a parts car so I'm not worried about perm. Damage.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Remove the steering wheel and take out the locking plate.

Just disconnect the wires to the column and the 4 bolts holding it to the dash, then spin the whole column. Or just take the steering shaft off the column all together.
