Is it crazy or what? Been reading about 87GT auto dog bone difference. Because it is already tapered and rubber, does anyone think if right size is used it could work?

You want to use a rubber bushing from a dog bone as a freeze plug on an engine?................no. Freeze plugs are cheap....get one and do it right.

The freeze plug may fit each end of the strut dog bone with a little modification. Do you think the material is correct to use as a bushing?

If you would please form complete thoughts and express them in complete sentences, we might be able to help you.
It sounds like you want to use dog bone parts as a freeze plug or freeze plugs to fix a dog bone. I can't really tell. Either way, how much money are you trying to save here? Just buy the correct part for the car - or wrap it in 5 rolls of duct tape.

It seems from what I have read is that there are no strut bushings available for 87gt automatics. Any suggestions as to what to use?

Buy a of non tapered poly bushings and reshape them on the wire wheel of your bench grinder.
I have done it several times. Takes all of ten minutes.

Now, how hard was that?

X2

I put my poly bushings in a lathe and tapered the inner surface to get them to fit.

Are they the prothane motion control bushings from the fiero store part no. 52897? I should not drill out dog bone to fit it, instead taper the bushing. Sorry about the sloppy start of topic. Way over tired from work had nutso idea for tapered freeze plugs.
