What in the opinion of people more experienced than me are the best brands of icm and pickup coil?

I've heard the the ICM is something you don't want to skimp on. AC Delco for the ICM. As far as pickup coil, I think any will do. I just put a put a pickup coil called a "Standard T-Series". It was about $4.00 and my car runs like a champ. A pickup coil is just composed of copper wire.

The genuine American AC delco was the best. Its hard to find a genuine AC delco part, even if its in a genuine looking box. Also most places you can still get them from (online) dont seem to honor any kind of warranty.

I used BWD from Oreillys and its been in there a few years, just make sure to use a good heat sink compound under the ICM, not the clear stuff that comes with it.

Where is the best place to get the heat sink paste?

I got mine at Radio Shack, its there because other electronic items use it.
