Hi group got a little problem and need some help read lots of posts but this is perplexing as most things are on these little cars.
87 2.5 issuzu 5 spd trans. Got rodney's shift cables installed worked fine drove it about 25 miles ( transmission was in shop prior)
started not shifting. checked push rod on hydrolics and found the when the shift assembly on transmission the bolts loosened the shifter worked. tightened up the bolts that hold the shifter to top of trans and it worked for awhile and than froze in gear again.

purchased a used one from one of our members it worked for about 25 miles and locked up. loosed it and work until it locked up again.

what is going on with this???? I cant figure it out nor can the mechanic friend helping me with it.

Try putting some washers under the bolts. Maybe a bolt(s) is too long and pushing on something internally?
