I have an 88 GT with 42xxx miles original on it. When I drive at highway speeds (and sometimes lower), the car feels "bouncy" and not as stable as I would expect. Could this be that it needs new shocks? I have had the ball joints in the front replaced when I bought the car a few months ago. Has anyone else had an issue like this and if so, what is the solution? I would like that the car feels solid when I drive on the highway.

Thanks in advance.

New shocks may or may not improve the ride quality in the front that you are experiencing I would look into new springs or an adjustable shock for the front for a stiffer ride

A poor alignment will do that. Fieros need a 4 wheel alignment done by somebody who knows what they are doing. If they give you a standard price without checking on exactly what it takes to align an 88 Fiero, find another shop.

edit: 88 suspensions are different than earlier Fieros.
Possibly because of the mid-engine, Fieros are sensitive to both tires and alignment; when you get them right, the car will drive like it is on rails.
