I am doing a 3800sc/f23 swap and I don't feel like spending $565 for a SPEC clutch. Anybody ever use a ClutchMasters FX series clutch on their F23 without hitting the bellhousing? I want to get the FX400 6-puck spring clutch kit since I am producing around 330chp/400ctq

I am using a ClutchMaster 6 puck clutch in the SBC/F23 I am working on. Its completely different in that the flywheel isn't as deep into the bellhousing (due to the adapter plate thickness), so clearance to the differential boss isn't any issue. However, I can't comment if it will work with a 3800/F23 setup.

However, with all the run-arounds and delays to get the clutch, I would never recommend then as a clutch supplier. This was the 2nd ClutchMasters clutch for this car, so all they had to do was lookup the previous order and make/ship one just like it. However, numerous times when they said the clutch shipped, and it hadn't, they came back a week or two later and requested more info (like confirming the spline count on the input shaft). I didn't really keep track of the exact timeline, but it was something like 6 weeks for the clutch disk and 3-4 weeks for the pressure plate.

I guess Spec spoiled me. I call them up, order the clutch by part # and its at my house in 3-7 days.
