Just picked up '87 GT from original owner in excellent condition. The side-to-side motion in the shifter is really stiff, making it difficult to get the tranny (5-speed) into the 1-2 and 5-R gates. I suspect the cable(s) are kinked or gummed up. Which cable (shift or select) affects the side-to-side motion of the shifter?
