New to the forum. Had my Fiero for a while till the motor blew. I have the crappy 84. I did mod it to avoid the fire issue. But then it suddenly quit one day. So I thought it was time for a new project. It is going to become crossbred with a VW VR6.

The car currently is an automatic. I am swapping that out to be manual however. Is there any custom setups for the stick shift? Or is it okay to just switch in the manual from another year? I can manage a pedal pretty easily. But the stick shift is newer to me. At least on this car. Thanks ahead of time!

You're going to need master cylinder, lines, slave, brackets for the pedal, shifter, cables....... Best bet is to find a donor car to strip all the parts you're going to need from.

I already know all of that. My question is the actual shifter itself. Any year works right? I have 8 fieros at my local junkyard. Already pulled all the parts for $60. But I am not gonna get into installing it yet till I get to that point. Still stripping down for the painting process. And the Fiero is on hold right now so I can get my Ranger and other car done. Just trying to make sure all my corners are clear before I get there.

Not sure I will be using all the parts either like the slave due to it getting a VR6 from a VW. So it will be getting that trans too. Depends on what is best and cheapest for me to fabricate.
