I see these on eBay to install in the muffler for a turbo sound.
http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.htm....Xexhaust+turbo+soun

Here's the idea..
What if one could be installed backwards in the air intake tube in the drivers side fender (85 GT) between the air intake vent and the air filter canister? It would make that whistling sound by the drivers door. I thought my intake air sucking sound was a scraping in the tranny but when I put my ear to the air intake vent I knew it was air rushing in. I have seen where owners replace the funky plastic plenum between the vent and the air filter canister with a straight PVC tube.. What if one of these was installed in that tube? I can't wait for summer to play around with it, ill take the wheel well plastic off and look at the connection between the vent and the air free canister better.
Any thoughts ? Ideas? Anyone willing to try putting one of these in the intake tube and videoing it?
I will video it and post it if I ever try it.
Peace out fiero guys ! (And gals)

With the silencer/water separator box in the rear quarter area removed, the intake will whistle under normal operation. It's literally removing the box, and adding a straight tube there (like less than $5 in components). Every time you let off the gas, you get an intake whistle.

I know it's a silly idea.... I warned everyone that its a crazy idea.
Just came to mind that's all.what would be the benefit in removing the air intake plastic plenum between the air vent and the filter canister?
To cut down on restriction of air flow ?

The flow at the water separator has been measured and found to not be restrictive. No gain to be had there. The whistling you're hearing may be from the extra port in your air filter canister. Some have this port, some do not. If it is not capped off, you get extra noise and unfiltered air going into the engine.
