On the new oil control ring spacers I got there are two plastic blocks at each end. The instructions say to be sure these butt against each other, but I am not sure if I'm supposed to leave the plastic bits on when I install the pistons. It seems like they would melt and cause a problem. Couldn't find a definitive answer for this on the web, any ideas?

*EDIT* After a little more research I was able to find an answer. Sounds like you keep the plastic bits on when you install the rings. They are there to keep you from accidentally overlapping the ends of the spacer ring.
