So when I bought the car back in September, they had a switch wired up to make the headlights to come up. I was cleaning out the car tonight and come across some relays, I am thinking they had problems with the lights and started replacing. Just wondering what these are: 3 relays has HR on the top and one of them has GM 048 8D09 and they are look the same A carquest box with RY-130 Relay, not sure what it was for. Another, not sure what it is but it looks like some kind of solid state something, it has a metallic back and a place for 3 wiring harness's with the number on it 7203 10031018 on it, one of the harness connectors has +2c stamped on it and the other one has GBRE4 and the other has PN, would this be something for the distributor?
The black solid state box is the Ignition Control Module (ICM) although GM calls it the Electronic Spark Control (ESC). You are correct that its part of the distributor. It mounts on the inside at the base.
The relays with the HR on top are headlight motor relays, but I believe they are also the same part number as the fan relay if not several others too. They are not isolation relays which are also used in the headlight circuit of Gen 1 headlights. Not sure what the GM 048 8D09 relay is nor the Carquest one.
