hey guys,
i was feeling for an exhaust leak on glass side of engine(which is it officially left or right?), and i noticed a tube out of the valve cover. a quick search of the archives and i found it to be the fresh air intake for pcv system. there are many posts explaining the location of both ends, but no pics. does anyone have a pic of where/what the tube on valve cover connects to?
thanks

Should plug into rubber air intake forward of the throttle body (glass side of engine).

Neither, it's the front side.

front side? i like it! like towards front of car. now i got it
i also found where to connect tube. there is a port/nipple coming off of air filter snorkel (which was another thing plugged by previous owner. this time with a side mounted battery terminal)
took some 5/8 hose and 2 clamps and voila, back to stock. now the question is, what will this do?
did i correct anything?

this vents the oil emissions vapors into TBI & engine combustion ,where the vapors are burned under normal conditions
make sure the PCV valve is still there shake it to see if it rattles

Was the fresh air tube just left disconnected, or did they plug it? If it was left disconnected, then it was sucking in dust and grime, into your engine internals. If it was plugged, then volatile chemicals and corrosive combustion byproducts were accumulating in your engine oil. In either case, you just did your engine a favor by restoring proper PCV function.

i replaced grommet and pcv valve months ago, so they are fine, also they are on the..wait for it... back side. see i got it now.
the tube or elbow rather, on the front side nearest window was left just sitting there. i guess, like you say, sucking in all unfiltered stuff.
the port on the air filter snorkel was for whatever reason plugged on purpose. now that i connected the 2 i hope there was no damage done internally.
maybe i'll start a thread about weirdest things a previous owner did?
