Hello everyone,
I've been looking for 2.8 valve cover bolts for some time with no luck.
My question is, can I re-tap these to a GM 1/4-28 to standardize these
with standard fasteners? It's frustrating because all I'm missing is
just 5 bolts previous owner left out. Bet you can guess which ones!

Thanks for any help,

'87 GT- Rebuilt 2.8 3 spd trans.

IIRC, the stock valve cover bolts are 6mm diameter, which is roughly 1/4". So tapping for 1/4" thread won't work. You'd have to up-size it to 5/16".

That said, plenty of people should have stock valve cover bolts available.
